Educator Of The Year Honored By Colleagues

Hope Public Schools Dyslexia Services Coordinator Karen Ivers was honored by colleagues Tuesday at Clinton Primary School after being named the 2017 Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year.

Ivers was joined in the celebration by her husband, Jimmy Ivers, and family members in the reception at the CPS cafeteria.

Ms. Ivers said that the Chamber honor was not hers to claim as much as it represents the opportunities afforded the children in the Hope Public Schools.

“It’s always about the children” Ivers said.
