Train Day Program At Hope Lions Club

The Hope Lions Club heard a program on Train Day on Monday May 4th.  Lion and Train Day Committee member Jeff Cook joined Train Day co-chairmen Malinda Brinkmeyer and Sharon Caldwell for the program.  They explained events begin with a 5k at 8am.  Applications are available on the Train Day facebook page.  Also, there is a magician onstage at 10am, a children's play entitled "The Bremen Town Musicians" set for 1pm, a Wal-Mart Bicycle Safety Fair, health checks from the Hempstead County Health Department for lung disease as well as blood pressure checks, a Life Share Blood Drive, and vision screening courtesy the Hope Public Schools.  There is a bar b cue rib cook-off with a $1,000 top prize.  Train Day also features free hot dogs for all.  There will be entertainment at 5:15pm from John Marshall and Greg Gardner, 6:30pm from the Jason Helms Band, and 7:30pm from Split Decision.  For info visit Brinkmeyer or Caldwell at Tailgater's or visit the Train Day Facebook page.  The public is welcome and most events are free!
