Monument To Honor General Herbert Jack Lloyd

Sheriff James Singleton and local businessman Gary Chambless announced Monday (4-20) that a monument to honor Brigadier General Herbert Jack Lloyd of Hempstead County will be erected on the courthouse lawn later this year. General Lloyd has been honored in a variety of ways including at the O.C.S. Hall of Fame at Fort Benning, GA as well as the Arkansas Military Veterans Hall of Fame, and the United States Army Ranger Hall of Fame. Plans are to unveil the monument on Veteran's Day this fall. Well over half the cost has been raised and anyone or organization who would like to contribute can contact Sheriff Singleton or Chambless.  Pictured at the announcement at the Hampton Inn is County Judge Haskell Morse, Sheriff James Singleton, General Lloyd, Gary Chambless, and Bro. John Nations.
