Hope Kiwanis Club Hears From Paul Henley On "Girl Scout Hut"

The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Paul Henley of the Hope Parks Department on Tuesday February 17th.  Paul talked about the "Girl Scout Little House" in the Fair Park and how efforts are underway to obtain a grant to stabilize it and begin renovations to the structure.  The building was built by the WPA in 1934 and is one of only 3 such structures left in the U.S., the other two being in New York and Michigan.  The city board voted to apply for an Arkansas Historic Preservation Grant to begin renovations on the structure at their meeting Tuesday night.
