Rotary Hears Program On 100 Years Of The Cooperative Extension Service
The Hope Rotary Club had a great program on Thursday May 29th concerning the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative Extension Service. Rotarian Dr. Vic Ford of the University of Arkansas Southwest Research introduced Terrie James, Staff Chairman of the Cooperative Extension Service in Hempstead County. James brought a short video presentation on extension over the past 100 years and then updated the club on many of the current projects and duties of the Cooperative Extension Service in the 21st Century. One notable point she made is that for every $1 spent to fund the Cooperative Extension Service results in $20 worth of community benefits.
