The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from County Agent Steven Sheets of the Hempstead County office of the Cooperative Extension Service. Sheets outlined some of the activities of the Extension Service. He brought some information prepared by the University of Arkansas that showed Hempstead County was one of the few counties in southwest Arkansas to have growth in county revenue of 30% or more since 1999.
