A group called "Friends of AMTRAK" held their first meeting Tuesday March 26th at Hope's City Hall. John Ed Watkins is chairman of the group. He noted the train will begin stopping in Hope April 4th and some local residents are planning to ride the train to Texarkana that first morning. Watkins notes volunteers are needed to help with the dedication ceremony May 18th. Àlso volunteers are needed to help people who are not computer literature purchase tickets at the Hope AMTRAK stop.
