The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Sheriff James Singleton Tuesday October 23rd. The sheriff gave an update on the work going on now to put a new roof on the Hempstead County Detention Center. He noted the work on the roof and the expansion of the sheriff's department offices is being funded by jail booking fees and money the county received from the jail lawsuit money.
