The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from The President of the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation. Wesley Woodard told the club the count saw over 440 new positions added in 2011. He noted 2011 started with an unemployment rate at 10% and ended the year with unemployment around 7.4% in Hempstead County. He said 2011 was good and 2012 should be better.
