The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from author George Baker of Arkadelphia Tuesday February 14th. Baker, who is the father of Jodi Coffee of Hope, has recently written a book about the late Ralph "Sporty" Carpenter, former head football coach at Henderson State. The book is called "When Lightning Struck The Outhouse". Carpenter, who died in 1990, posted the most wins in HSU history. Baker coached with him for 16 years. The book is available online at
