Jewell Still, Sr. opened the business in 1959 after ten years as shop foreman of Young Chevrolet in Hope. Don and Jewell, Jr. grew up in the business (literally as the family lived in an apartment over the garage for years). A big crowd of well-wishers came out to wish the Still's "happy anniversary" and to enjoy homemade goodies prepared by Mrs. Jewell Still, Sr.
