Hempstead County Farm Bureau Holds Annual Meeting

The Hempstead County Farm Bureau had their annual meeting Thursday (10-09) at Hempstead Hall.  Well over 400 people enjoyed a fish and chicken dinner catered by Amigo Juan.  In addition to honoring retiring board member Denny Dickinson, the Hempstead County and Southwest District Farm Family of the Year, the Warren and Becky Webster family of Columbus was honored.  Farm Bureau President Mark Lloyd conducted the meeting and Don Honea presented the slate of nominated board members.  The slate was approved.  They included Clay Antley, Steve Burke, Thomas Burke, William Byers, Matt Chambless, Steve Featherson, Glen Ford, Randy Hare, Don Honea, Barry Jackson, Steve Lance, Steve Lively, Mark Lloyd, Lynn Montgomery, Shane Plyler, Paul Poindexter, Ned Ray Purtle, Ron Self, Eric Fisher, Denver Ward, Bobby Webb, Paul Williams, Russell Womack, Caleb Plyler, Mark Lockhart, and Earnest Brown.  After some remarks from a representative from the state office the meeting adjourned following the winners of the door prizes.  Entertainment was provided by the Hempstead County Melody Boys
